Clare is a Designer, Educator and Consultant based in Moscow and London.

Graduating from Central St Martins School of Art & Design with a BA (Hons) Fashion Womenswear, Clare has spent the last 20 years working in the fashion industry as both an Educator and Designer.

Clare’s work has been featured in The Guardian, Style Bubble, The Telegraph, The Pop, Another Magazine and The New York Times.

Clare started her career in the UK where she worked as a freelance Fashion and Textile Designer for a number of international fashion labels while also developing her career as a Tutor. Clare went on to establish and lead London based academic courses as well as designing Fashion and Textile professional short courses and bespoke consultancy programmes for industry clients at the London College of Fashion.

In 2008 Clare relocated to Moscow to establish, author and direct the first international BA (Hons) Fashion Degree Programme in Russia at the British Higher School of Art & Design, part of Moscow Film School and Moscow School of Architecture.

Clare has introduced much needed pedagogic change and innovation to the academic process, building an ambitious and dynamic fashion department.

Under Clare’s creative direction and leadership, the course has inspired an internationally facing generation of fashion designers, entrepreneurs, thought leaders and creative disruptors that have redefined the perception of Russian fashion talent on a global platform.

Clare’s educational strategy is a symbol of vision and tenacity as she emerges as one of the most influential outliers within the post-soviet creative industries in Russia.

The graduate and alumni community are ambassadors for this success attracting international press and acclaim, wIth globally recognised alumni such as Maria Jahnkoy, shortlisted for the LVMH prize and making the Forbes ‘30 under 30’ as well as graduates featured in i-D, Dazed Digital, British Vogue, L’Officiel, Vogue Russia, Vogue Italia, ShowStudio, New York Times, Calvert Journal and The Guardian.

As part of her life and research into Moscow and Russian culture Clare has been engaged in her own professional practice. Described by Susie Bubble as ‘Spying through English Eyes’ Clare’s debut collection was launched as part of the British Council’s ‘British Designers Day’ at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week, Russia.

Clare has actively raised the profile of the department through her design practice and public engagement, lectures, panel discussions and competition panel memberships.

Clare is regularly invited to consult and participate in academic, creative and cultural initiatives to consult, support and further develop the emerging fashion industry in Russia. Clare has liaised with a number of organisations including the British Council, Mercedes Benz Fashion Week, Russian Fashion Council, Garage Centre for Contemporary Culture, Moscow, Russian Fashion Theory, Vogue Russia, Elle Russia and the Museum of Moscow.
